REPORTS OF JOB LOSSES AT NXP DISAPPOINTING - STUNELL

Commenting on the reports that 50 workers at NXP Semi-Conductors, based in Hazel Grove, are set to lose their jobs on Friday, Local MP Andrew Stunell said:

"This is hugely disappointing news for the workers at the firm and their families.

"The recession continues to bite, and it is a worrying development that even Hi-Tech jobs are being undermined by the recession.

"I will be working closely with the council over the coming weeks, and contacting the Council's economic development officer as soon as possible to find out what help can be provided for anyone affected during this difficult time."
